Useful tools

Steel from Dillinger Hütte GTS is characterised by its excellent fabrication properties. Nevertheless, modern fine grain steels which are applied in steel construction, shipbuilding, engineering or the pressure vessel industry, can demand for an increased fabrication knowledge from the user
By offering tailor-made fabrication software for our special steel brands, Dillinger Hütte GTS would like to support its clients in improving efficiency and quality during fabrication.

The following possibilities are currently offered:

Our welding tools comprise of the calculation of carbon equivalents, the determination of welding parameters such as preheating temperature, the calculation of the cooling time as well as the calculation of the maximum hardness in the heat affected zone after welding. The determination of welding parameters and the calculation of the cooling time is based on SEW 088 (Weldable fine grain steel – Guideline for the fabrication in particular for melting welding, 1993) as well as EN 10 11-2 (Welding – recommendation for welding metallic materials – Part 2: Arc welding of ferritic steels), method B according to annex 3. Hardness values can be calculated in dependence of the cooling time by the formulas of Yurioka or Düren which have been gained by regression analysis.

The Hollomon Parameter HP describes the effect of a heat treatment by isothermal holding at a temperature for a certain time. The effect of the heat treatment depends on its temperature and its time.

The information included in the programs has been processed with the highest care. However the occurrence of mistakes cannot be excluded absolutely. Dillinger Hütte Inc. is - as far as German law allows – not liable for damage caused by using this program. For material-related data only the current version of the printed material data sheet is binding.

We wish you a pleasurable usage of our fabrication software.
