The steel for cost-efficient construction: DI-MC

DI-MC has been specially developed for structural-steel engineering. Specify it wherever you have used conventional structural steels in the past, and benefit from its unconventional cost-efficiency. In a nutshell: DI-MC combines high strength and toughness with a workability superior to that of conventional structural steels. In particular, excellent hot ductility and cold-workability combine with outstanding weldability - with no need for preheating. DI-MC can even be welded at high specific heat input rates without suffering any significant losses in mechanical strength and toughness properties.

This permits cost-savings of up to 20 % compared to the use of conventional structural steels. Repair welds are also possible without difficulty where DI-MC is used. DI-MC obtains its very special properties from the thermomechanical rolling process used in its production. It is available in three strength classes, which are identified by its minimum yield strength: DI-MC 355, DI-MC 420 and DI-MC 460.
