The plastics-mould steels: DIMO
Our DIMO 2311, DIMO 2738 and DIMO 42M steels have been specifically developed for the making of plastics moulds with high mould-surface specifications. These steels are distinguished by their high polishability, high geometrical stability, good machinability, and their suitability for eroding-based surface texturing. These chromium-, manganese- and molybdenum-alloyed steels are supplied in pre-heat-treated state.
DIMO 2312 is a close relation of the above DIMO steels. Sulfur is added during its alloying phase, however, to improve its machinability sufficiently to allow it to be used for automated production. This grade can be used for plastics moulds with lower mould-surface specifications, and also for mould holder block components.
DIMO 42H has been specially developed for the production of holder block and accessory components, such as base plates, frames and attachments.
Dillinger Hütte GTS also supplies the economical unalloyed DIMO C45 and DIMO C55 steels for standardized elements and mould accessories, such as frames, ejector plates, slats and clamp plates.
