Environmental Guidelines

In order to achieve its environmental aims, the board of Dillinger Hütte established environmental guidelines leading the company into a unambiguous and homogeneous direction. It is important to state that environmental protection is considered as an integral component of the company policies and that it is not limited to some sectors.

Safety for both people and environment

The facilities run based on a technique which fullfils most up-to-date requirements within reasonable economic limits in order to guarantee most possible security for both, people and environment.
Continuous controlling and maintenance have secured the achievement of this aim. Of course, we have also always met legal requirements.

Avoiding ecological damage and saving resources

Dillinger Hütte must limit the environmental effects to the lowest possible measure.
Therefore raw materials and energy have to be used very efficiently. Emissions and waste have to be minimised.
Avoiding waste is better than recycling.
The effects on the environment have to be analysed regularly and if necessary reduced.
Programmes for minimising air and noise emissions as well as for saving resources such as energy and water have to be established and continued.

Production integrated environmental protection

Measures for environmental protection are essential components within the production process, better than taking adjusting measures afterwards.
The production processes have to be continuously improved to ensure most possible environmental protection.

Higher awareness for ecological responsibility

All employees are responsible for achieving the environmental aims of Dillinger Hütte.
Both, environmental awareness and the ability to act in a responsible way have to be systematically developed further.

Open information policy

The information policy of Dillinger Hütte is open within and outside of the company. Thus, we inform employees, customers, the public and authorities about our ecological activities. This is the best way to offer an open and detailed dialogue.
