Dillinger is also known as the "green steelworks". Visitors encounter some 500 hectares of woods and meadows in the immediate vicinity of the main plant at Dillingen. This succulent swathe of nature is part of the grounds of the manorial residence of the Baron de Lenoncourt, who founded the ironworks in 1685. It is, simultaneously, the visible expression of our respect for the environment: throughout the company, we are uncompromisingly committed to sustainable, environmentally safe resources management and production.
Innovative steel products and their use in wind-power installations and modern power-generating plants save six times more CO2 than is caused by their production.
Our material – steel – also makes a valuable contribution, like scarcely any other, to environmental and climate protection – from its environmentally safe production, via its long service in innumerable diverse applications, up to and including complete and infinitely repeatable recycling. We are constantly pursuing the development of innovative environmental-protection technologies via cooperation with universities, institutions of higher education, scientific institutes and partners from other branches of industry.
Innovative top-quality steel products, total orientation around our customers' needs and unceasing technological development in close cooperation with our partners form the basis of our success - as they have for more than 333 years.
