Gold for Dillinger sustainability strategy

EcoVadis, an international sustainability ratings service, has awarded a gold medal to Aktien-Gesellschaft der Dillinger Hüttenwerke (Dillinger) for its corporate social responsibility (CSR) activities. The EcoVadis rating confirms the high quality of sustainability management at Dillinger. Responsible operation and sustainable management have long been firmly embedded in the corporate policy of the Saarland-based steel company.

Dillinger has already successfully positioned itself in recent years in the CSR rating of EcoVadis as a company with sustainable and responsible operations. In the current evaluation, Dillinger was able to further improve on its good result from the previous year, and, with 68 points, is among the top three percent of companies in the industry category. The assessment is valid until December 2022.

“We are conscious of our responsibility as a company toward our employees, our customers and our business partners as well as the environment. The gold rating for Dillinger validates our actions and long-time commitment to sustainability for current and future generations,” said Dr. Karl-Ulrich Köhler, Chairman of the Board of Management of Dillinger. “Particularly in view of the transformation process the steel industry is undergoing, these values are forward-looking and of central importance to our business success.”

The EcoVadis rating is based on a defined scorecard. This includes the criteria of the Global Reporting Initiative, the United Nations Global Compact, and the International Organization for Standardization for the areas of environment, labor and human rights, ethics, and sustainable procurement. Specification of defined evaluation criteria enables companies certified by EcoVadis to be compared internationally.
