Longitudinally profiled plates used in current bridge projects

19. December 2017

Longitudinally profiled plates, so-called LP plates, are a very special heavy plate product, as they have a varying thickness profile over the length of the plate.

To furthermore improve this cutting-edge product, Dillinger has recently made big progress by doubling the feasible slope. By complex and highly controlled rolling technology, nowadays, various profiles with slopes up to 10mm/m are applicable.

These new profile types are actually used in different bridge projects either to reduce costs, by e.g. a reduced number of welds or an improved fatigue behavior, or to allow extraordinary shapes for a slender design.

You can easily check online in our e-service tool whether a desired profile type is feasibile.
