UKCA compliant pressure equipment steel

Dillinger receives approval according UKCA for pressure equipment plates.

At the beginning of 2020, the United Kingdom left the European Union. From 1st January 2021, the UKCA marking applied, whereby a transitional period of two years was set, which allowed CE-marked products to continue to be marketed and used. However, the transition period expired on 31st December 2022. From 1st January 2023, UKCA marking will be mandatory for many products marketed in the UK, including pressure equipment. UKCA is an abbreviation for "UK Conformity Assessed". All pressure equipment falling within the scope of the “Pressure Equipment (Safety) Regulations 2016” must now be UKCA marked.

At the same time, the European Pressure Equipment Directive 2014/68/EU lost its validity in the UK. According to the new directive, suppliers of the steels for the construction of UKCA-compliant pressure equipment shall be approved by an "approved body". Dillinger has received this approval for both plants (in Dillingen and in Dunkirk). The scope of application corresponds to that of the approval of the European Pressure Equipment Directive (PED) 2014/68/EU.
